Microbial and Animal Genomics Laboratory

Welcome to the Microbial and Animal Genomics Laboratory web page. We are located at the College of Veterinary Medicine at Mississippi State University in Starkville, Mississippi. The primary mission of our laboratory is to elucidate mechanisms of bacterial pathogenesis and host response by investigating the complex and fascinating interaction between prokaryotes and their eukaryotic hosts. To accomplish this, we utilize genome sequencing, microarrays, high throughput proteomics, molecular biology, systems biology, and imaging technologies. In addition to pathogenesis investigations, we also conduct research on environmental microbes for bioenergy production.

Our research is conducted by a dynamic group of undergraduate, veterinary, and graduate students, research associates, postdoctoral scientists, and faculty members. We also participate in multidisciplinary collaborations with scientists across the MSU campus and on other university campuses. Thank you for visiting our web page, and please feel free to contact us!
